Open Fight Night Qualifying Battle Royal

Madison Rayne was on the stage and I assume the mystery guy is in the ring. It came down to AJ Styles, Gunner, Garett Bischoff, Robbie E, Robbie T, Austin Aries and Devon. Robbie T was working over Bischoff but Robbie E tossed his own partner over the time. Devon tossed Robbie E out to the floor. Garett Bischoff “outsmarted” Devon by pulling down the top rope to eliminate him and Taz hyped it up big on commentary. Garett turned right around into a Pele kick and was eliminated by Styles. It finally came down to AJ Styles and Gunner. Styles tossed him for the win.

Winner: AJ Styles

-Commercial Break-

When we returned from commercial, they played a video feature on the secret Kazarian and Chris Daniels had on AJ Styles.

Back in the ring, AJ Styles cut a promo.  He said that Bobby Roode is on the verge of being the longest reigning champion in TNA history.  The fans chanted for AJ,  Styles promised that if he’s in the ring next week, he’s going to win the title and asked Hogan to put him in the ring with Roode.  Styles said that he promised to addressed the photos from last week.  He said that he and Dixie Carter have been business partners for ten years.  He said that she is beautiful and wealthy but they are both happily married.  He said that things are not always what they seem.

The New TNA Tag Team champions Chris Daniels and Kazarian come down the ramp as Taz states that they won the Tag Titles at Sacrifice.  Daniels said that last week, the world saw proof of what made Styles the star he is today.  Kazarian said that all this isn’t about destroying anyone’s life but about exposing the truth.  He said that they have proof why he’s always gotten the breaks while they were left in his wake.  He said that Styles always says he’s a moral person and asked him to explain himself.   Daniels said that he claims images can be taken out of context, but not video.  Kazarian held up an iPad and it was video of Styles and Carter, arm in arm, walking into a hotel together.  Styles put his arm over Carter’s shoulder as they walked and pulled her into an elevator he held open for her.  Daniels asked Styles to explain himself.  Styles shoves Daniels and bails out of the ring.  Daniels said that’s the problem with the truth: It sucks.

TNA’S IMPACT WRESTLING CELEBRATES SUMMER 2012 BY GOING LIVE!

SPIKE TV TAKES HIGHLY RATED SHOW LIVE AND TO 8:00PM/ET BEGINNING THURSDAY, MAY 31st

NASHVILLE, TN – (May 17, 2012) –  TNA IMPACT WRESTLING President Dixie Carter and SPIKE TV President Kevin Kay announce today that the highly-rated “IMPACT WRESTLING” will be going Live! from Universal Studios beginning May 31st and continue through the summer.  This announcement coincides with the recently announced new, one-hour earlier time slot change of 8:00-10:00pm/ET every Thursday night beginning May 31st.

“We are excited to take IMPACT WRESTLING Live! all summer long, and have our first Live! summer show launch our new 8:00pm/ET time slot,” says TNA President Dixie Carter.   “Summer of 2012 is going to be remembered as the most momentous time in our company’s history-to-date. Stay tuned.”

AJ Styles is up next as he challenges Robie E for the TV Title, and we go to comments from AJ as he says he’s past the deal with Daniels and Kazarian and it’s time to focus on his end goal of regaining the World Title.

TV Title Match: Robbie E vs AJ Styles

AJ absolutely dominates Robbie E, tearing through him with clotheslines and nearly breaking him in half with a modified Muta Lock. Robbie makes the ropes and scurries to the outside where Robbie T stands between his boss and AJ. Robbie E rolls into the ring and puts the boots to AJ as he gets back in and whips him hard into the corner. AJ tries to fire back, but Robbie gets a slick Jersey legsweep for 2. Robbie whips AJ to the corner again, face first this time, and Robbie T gets a cheap right hand from the floor while Robbie E distracts the referee. Robbie slams AJ and then takes his time showboating as he goes to the second rope, pumps his fist, but still manages to hit a kneedrop off the second rope for 2. AJ suddenly fires up out of nowhere and starts rocking Robbie with strikes, hits a nasty backbreaker for 2. Robbie goes for the Styles Clash, but Robbie T gets on the apron to distract AJ before he can finish the move. Robbie E recovers and blindsides AJ with a series of right hands, but AJ hits a Pelle Kick and goes to the apron as Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian come marching down the aisle. Kazarian yanks AJ off the apron and rams him into the guardrail, and the referee calls for the bell.

Winner: AJ Styles by DQ

Daniels looks shocked at the viciousness with which Kazarian attacked AJ, and stares after him in disbelief as they head to the back.

We see a video package lookin back at what’s happened so far between AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, and Frankie Kazarian leading up to last week when Daniels decided that Kazarian will face Styles at Against All Odds. This leads us right into our opening match…

Christopher Daniels vs AJ styles

Daniels jumps AJ before the bell, but AJ fires back and they go back and forth until Danielscatches AJ unawares with a right hand to the jaw and knocks him on his butt. AJ quickly recovers and dropkicks Daniels out to the floor, then follows after him with a somersault dive over the top rope. AJ sends Daniels into the ring and goes for the Styles Clash, but Daniels blocks and pulls a foreign object out of his boot. The referee sees him and tries to grab whatever it is, so Daniels tosses the object to Kazarian and out of the view of the referee. Daniels backdrops AJ to the apron and hits a clothesline, sending AJ crashing down onto the apron and to the floor. Daniels rolls AJ back into the ring and hits a slingshot legdrop followed by a running clothesline for 2. Daniels locks in a neck vice on AJ, and AJ starts to squirm free so Daniels gets a kneedrop for 2 and then goes back to the neck vice. Crowd is split 50/50 as AJ fights his way out of the neck vice and comes off the ropes right into a leaping enziguiri from Daniels. Daniels covers for 2 and then goes for Angel’s Wings, but AJ escapes and hits an enziguiri, and both men are down. Daniels crawls over to the ropes and tells Kazarian to give him the knucks, but Kazarian holds his ground and AJ starts his comeback, hitting the moonsault/deathdrop and then a springboard forearm. AJ goes for the Styles Clash but Daniels counters to the uranage and then goes for the BME, AJ moves and hits the Pelle Kick to send Daniels out to the apron. AJ tries to drag Daniels back inside, but Daniels holds the ropes so AJ stomps at him until the referee backs him up and Daniels again yells at Kazarian to give him the knucks. This time Kazarian obliges and Daniels takes a swing, but AJ ducks and goes for a back suplex, accidentally ramming Daniels’ foot into the referee’s face on the way up, and the referee is stunned just long enough for Daniels to hit AJ with the knucks and get the win.

Winner: Christopher Daniels

Make sure to tune into Against All Odds, this Sunday on PPV! AJ will be on and will be facing Kazarian.

According to multiple sites, AJ will not be appearing on this week’s edition of iMPACT.  However, some spoilers are mixed up and have said he will be on, so just keep an eye out in case he appears this week.

Backstage, AJ Styles is complaining about Kazarian being Daniels’ puppet and he says he’s going to get to the bottom of it all tonight.  As we go to commercial, AJ Styles is seen walking backstage as Mike Tenay wonders whether he’ll get answers – up next!

AJ Styles In-Ring Segment
Styles walks down to the ring to talk about why Frankie Kazarian would turn his back on him. He details the history of the recent actions from Kazarian and says that Daniels has been treating Kazarian like a dog. Styles wants to know why Kazarian was allowing himself to be treated that way, which brings both of the aforementioned men out to the ring.

As they walk down the ramp, Taz notes that Kazarian can’t even stand up straight. Daniels starts ranting about how the sight of Styles in the ring complaining about adversity is all too common. He says that Styles is constantly complaining to the management like Sting and Dixie Carter and when he doesn’t get what he wants, he throws a tantrum. Daniels notes that he and Kazarian aren’t playing that game and that Kazarian doesn’t owe Styles any explanation. Styles threatens to come out of the ring and beat both of those guys up, but Daniels mocks him to the point where Styles says that he’s going to stand in the middle of the ring and allow Kazarian to hit him from behind.

Kazarian looks troubled about hitting Styles from behind, but Daniels nags him to do it anyway. Kazarian can’t do it so Daniels goes in to attack Styles and gets a kick to the head instead. Styles then challenges Kazarian to get in the ring as some weirdos in the iMPACT Wrestling Zone count out loud to 17 (makes no sense). As Kazarian appears ready to shake AJ’s hand, Daniels gets on the microphone and demands that Kazarian get out of the ring… so he leaves the ring. Daniels then says that he’s had enough of AJ’s temper tantrums so he’s challenging Styles to take on Kazarian and demands that Kazarian go and request the match from Sting. Both Mike Tenay and Taz aren’t sure what to make of this segment.
